The Wildcats struggled on the defensive end last year as the team surrendered 35.8 points and 467 yards to their opponents.
BYU concluded play a season ago with a record of 9-4. They have seven starters return on offense and eight to their defense. Kalani Sitake will enter his first year with the school and Bronco Mendenhall took the head coaching job at Virginia. Sitake will have seven starters back on offense and eight to the defense. Senior Taysom Hill will start at quarterback. Taysom has been injury prone during his time with the Cougars. BYU was a stout defense in 2015 by allowing 22.8 points and 346 yards per game.
